What's your longest win streak?

N AN A Red Chipper Posts: 147 ✭✭
Hi guys,

I play live 1/3 $500 max bet at my local casino, I've been playing 200 hours in the last 1.5 months at $22/hr

My longest win streak is 6 sessions in a row.

My goal is to break that record ASAP! I will update this forum as soon as I do that.

What is your average session length?

Depending on your style of play and hours you play per session you can have a pretty high session win rate.

Others will tell you though on here you are sacrificing +EV spots for consistentcy. I haven't played a ton this year, only about 120 hours but only 3 losing sessions. Mixture of 3\5 and 2\3 with 3-5hr per session.

    Same topic I've asked before.

Doing a good job, keep posting and forum members will try and help you improve. Probably missing a lot of EV spots.

14 years. Haven't had losing year yet.

My snarky was of saying ignore results in the short term as they don't matter. Instead focus 100% on learning/practicing to play winning poker!

Sometimes booking a win after losing 3-4 brutal sessions can do a lot for mental state. Otherwise, I just examine it month by month, and look at each session objectively for spots where I believe I made a mistake, and if I can figure out if I am doing the correct thing or not on my own, I post here. Last year I went out of my way to cheese sessions in order to artificially boost win and hourly rate. Been playing one hour and won $120? GOOD ENOUGH LEAVE! +120 an hour! What rubbish.

Change your mind set. If you are to play long enough, you'll discover that Poker can give you very long period of time where you feel you play good to great but still down or the opposite. This is why you should focus on playing good/great. This in itself is the reward because you can't ride variance or luck.

    1) I agree with everyone. Best to analyze how your playing and if your play is leading your wins or randomness -- and/or if you're winning but missing +EV opportunities. And to measure over a longer period. So, lots of "Agrees".

    2) Still, I'll you props for booking 6 wins in a row -- and credit that maybe it's because you're doing something right.

    Congrats!

Just to let you realize how Poker can be, i had a streak this year over 30K hands online where i was 27 buy-ins under EV but had a break-even BB/100.

    Sometimes Poker is just insane.

Shove it, shove it ya, shove yam shove it yay !

Back in 2008 playing 50nl i had a 200k hand break even stretch.

Anyone care to post some live play graphs?

I play 10-14 hr long sessions and my biggest streak was 19 sessions.

If you play to book a win, then the streak doesn't matter as much, as you'll see many short and winning sessions and a couple long and big losing sessions.

    @PBF_Prodigy that's a nice little run from 20k--->120k #feelsgoodman

Currently on a 22 session win streak in the micros. Definitely the longest run I've had in cash games.

After seeing one of your recent post of break even over 800 hours. Wanted to ask what changed from these 200 hours to your last 600 hours? From $22\hr to break even is pretty substantial.

My session tend to run from about 3 to 5 hours. I tend to play two a day, though the day I come down to AC...its usually a 5 to 7 hour single session.

Of these my longest streak is 13 sessions (though the first one of this streak I won $1....

My best over all performance was running 5 month at $35 and hour at 1-2....(though it is a hybred 1-2 game with 100 to 500 buy in so it sometimes plays like 1-3 or 2-5).....

That is VERY IMPRESSIVE! Do you mind if I ask how many hours over the 5 months you played?

I gotta double check, but my current heater winning 23 out of 26 sessions. Off top of my head I would guess $40-$45\hr. Just goes to show anything under 500 hours is really useless in terms of hourly. Usually just means your a winning player long run.

I think @Doug Hull had one of the highest hourly rates at $1\$2 or $1\$3 I forget the game, but posted some results maybe a year ago? If I'm not mistaken was $32\hr over decent sample.

It was a little over 415hours....and just short of 5 month (I cherry picked the start and finish date to get the $35/hr) ...I won almost every single all in pot it was sick....but at the same time I managed to loose every all in pots at 2-5 (3 of the 6 had over 70% equity ) to loose a bit over$1500 taking shots, during the same period... The gods of poker have a sense of humor....

Been trying to put in volume so I can promote from pre-black friday prodigy to post-black friday vampire hunter. Ignore the BB rate, it's messed up because of straddles and includes HU, where winrates are very high.

~$27/100 hands, and 4-5 tabling $50nl to $2000nl online, 100-400bb deep with antes.

So this would be like 2700 hours of live play, ~220 online.

Assumption if win rate is 25bb\100 would be around 8bb\hr live if the games were that tough as online. They are much softer as we know so maybe 12-15bb per hour is possible over large 2700 hr sample.

This would be $40\hr or 20bb\hr. Would like to see a larger sample. Also inspirational though to achieve one of the highest win rates ever seen. Highest ive been was $48\hr for $1\$3 and $57/hr for $2\$5 both small samples. They both drop to around 8bb as sample size grows.

Eh at high stakes win rate isn't a good method to compare talent because game selection is so paramount, the availability of games is pretty low, and your winrate falls dramatically once you play against tables with seven very good professionals and one bad but aggressive regular the game is revolving around. Like at $500/1000 a winrate of 1bb/hr is insanely good money, but the variance to maintain that 1bb can be overwhelming.

There are definitely poker millionaires who can't beat $5/10 on pokerstars long-term but they're +40-50 buy-ins over EV at nosebleeds so we think they're gods. <3

Watched @Matt Berkey talk about this in one of the vlogs. Was based on backing where he has say a million or whatever available to him, but doesn't mean his bankroll is a $1,000,000 due to his backer. I kind if like the way his deal is set up where he attritubes 10% of all losses immediately at the end of the session.

Another vlog he talks about playing against jungleman, hexton, some other pros where he said online he stands no chance but would he play against them live "fuck yes!" He got jungleman to fold QQ in a 3bet pot on T x x where he floated the flop with AJ and hit a J on the turn and check raised all in. His aggro edge concurs their nitty stack off ranges I guess.

Makes sense....ill see some people who I deem as fishy, but an aggro fish who can make a couple of hands can really run up a 500bb stack against passive fish. It frustrates Tags because they only have 200bb stacks and ask "how come I can't do that?" And that's because fish give action to players giving action and tags don't give much action.

I wish some of you played in my games. Would probably do much better than I. I am 90% sure I have some of the softest games in america.
