I was actually thinking the same thing. The reason for the small raise was I wanted a hand like AQ/KQ to call.
I could bluff it with T9s BDFD. Possibly Jacks
It shows a lack of strategy and understanding of range construction.
I was actually wondering if we ever lead this flop.
Personally I'm x/c this flop with 88. I've no issue c-betting PP under Q as bluff / thin value, but 88 is an awkward one for a c-bet. It's too strong for a bluff (SDV), and we strongly block 87os which would be our of our main targets.
A call is ok because/if V can stab with meh hands and we can expect to realize our SDV.
For PP under Q: I'd bet with 99-JJ as well as 22-33 (and A4s, which is in my preflop CO opening range). 88 is x/c as presented. 55-66 would be... rather a x/f since there aren't that many of draws available V could stab for bluff (only 65 for OESD) and 66/55 block it.
Edit: 7X is hard to play here. I could see it in a x/r range, targeting QX.
