Lets say were in a casino, and this is our lineup:

Seat 1: You
2: Balanced TAG/LAG
3: Old-School Street Poker
4: Nit
5: Value oriented while cardracking (female)
6: Clueless fish
7: Spewy LAG
8: unknown
9: Unstudied LAG
10: Solid LAG

First off, what are you doing about seat 2? Who are you targeting? How do you plan to adjust depending on who's involved? What are some ideal situations youre waiting for? Other thoughts. etc.

Also for the purpose of discussion, lets imagine everyone is sitting even @ 100 bb

Supper tight early position..to many lags behind you..
but once your in MId position...fish will be in BB and nit on btn...so time to open up ....
HJ pretty good...fish is limping....you need to iso a lot...m

co...and btn similar....but probably have to shut down the lags a bit ...probably have to 3 bet a lot over them....so they dont get to steel your btn...and let you keep isolating the fish...

Ok so were waiting for our moment to iso seat 6. Weve been playing tight a couple orbits, see our chance and open up.

    10 handed
    Hero in MP2 w/ :Xs:Xs

    UTG(spewy lag) limps
    UTG+2(unstudied lag) limps
    MP1(solid lag) limps
    Hero raises to 8 BB
    MP3(balanced tag/lag) flats
    SB(value oriented) flats
    BB(clueless fish) flats
    UTG flats
    UTG+2 flats
    MP1 folds

    Flop(51 BB):

    Checks to Hero

So our attempt to iso failed, were in a multiway pot, LAGS display passivity, were lacking range advantage and have little equity. Are we bluffing here? If so, when/what are we bluffing? Who connects with this flop based on profiles/position? If our opps. are betting draws, are we floating and how often?

As a general rule we're never bluffing when most of the table and a drunk guy at the craps table all call.

Ok, so if we're never bluffing, iso-ing attempts are failing, our player to our left is keen to exploit our tendencies, and virtually every flop has 3+ contenders, are we merging or polarizing our range as a general default?

Merging makes sense because we'll get to see more flops, and were more likely to get action when we give it. But this can backfire if seats 2, 4, or 5 are in the hand(or if the LAGs make a hand)

Polarizing makes sense to me only if were on a heater. Otherwise we'll be waiting all night to make a hand that might not even get paid off while playing expensive guessing games when we decide to run bluffs.

Also, are 3bets viable at a 100bb stack depth?
