Putting Theory into Practice

Hi everyone,

So I have lurked for quite a while on here, but am making a move to be more active.

A bit about me and my poker background, I'm an amateur/social poker player who cut my teeth on bar league freerolls/$5 buy in MTT's and 1c/2c no hold'em on Pokerstars and Fulltilt back in the day before Australia had it's own version of Black Friday. After that I moved away from the game due to inability to easily access cash games, and life commitments.

In the last 12 months of so I stumbled across the Red Chip podcast on Spotify, to listen to while driving as an uber eats driver. Up until recently I was still living in a location where the poker scene was very slim pickings which consisted of a $2/$2 No hold'em game at the local casino that would run Tuesday to Sunday 7pm till 3am and was always filled with 90% regs who knew each other and out classed me everytime I played and normally had one or two tables running

I have since moved to a new location that offers 1/2 no hold'em with a 50BB capped buy-in. Normally there are 3 to 5 tables running and they are always open. This has allowed me to implement some tips in some of the episodes I have listened to in the podcast (I'm up to episode 49) and pick and choose when I play, normally on a Friday or Saturday morning, around 6-7am when most players are on the tail end of a 7 to 12 hour session and have been drinking all night.

I have also taken to heart some advuce that was given about being active on the forums and posting at least once a day for 30 days, which I am aiming to do starting from today.

I hope to become an active part of the community and move from being an amature/social player to at least a serious social player/semi-pro.

I look forward to chatting with you all
