Live Poker Hands? Now Dead Poker Hands

Wynn LV shuts the room.

All other will follow as lawyers advise gutless corporate stooges to fold to the furor.

I bet Indian casinos hold out.

Good health to all those brave enough to play.

I checked Bravo, and play is down huge close to me, and I live in the Midwest near four rooms. . Live poker tables with players in close proximity handing grotesque chips is a petri dish for the virus. There is a word for those that keep playing. With EVERYTHING else shut down, is it OK to keep grinding?
Take a break folks. Not the end of the world (unless you keep playing?)

There'll be plenty of time for live games after the apocalypse. Right now we all have a responsibility to make this though period for humanity to pass as smoothly as possible - hence live poker shouldn't be a serious consideration. Take good care of each other!

Yes, it's regrettable, but at the same time, live and online games are becoming more and more like each other. Online options are also becoming increasingly diverse and thus smaller, more local, you could say. Club games/app games exist in all sorts of formats. (For play money or not, the RCP game is an example of this. I tuned in briefly to see what was up, and clearly more of you should take advantage of this. Not only was there a game but a discussion which amounts to coaching.)

This means they also play more like live games, with smaller pools who can't remain anonymous as easily. (Simultaneously, the U.S. facing sites continue to provide games for those who want that experience.) Further, if you don't, those who are are learning to look at the game more technically, meaning the regs should be tougher when live games return. It's a great time to get involved, as a live player, in the many opportunities to play in this particular online scene, and maybe even essential if you here and thus are a student of the game.

If you need help getting into an app game I (and others here) know many, each with different characteristics, contact me for details.

When I looked at Bravo last night, Friday, around 10 p.m., Venetian was down to 6 tables despite canceling the WPT event there. Aria 8, Wynn 9. Bellagio had something like the 15 and the old bastards who reg the Orleans were going strong with 22. Wild times.

I have speculated on Twitter that the reason the Orleans regs are still grinding out their comps is that, despite being in a high-risk group by virtue of advanced years, many died several years ago and simply haven't been asked to leave yet.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission directed Ohio’s four casinos to limit the number of people gathered in a public area to 100 or less by midnight March 13th. The commission issued the directive so the casinos would be in compliance with the order signed Thursday by Ohio Department of Health to prohibit mass gatherings. Hollywood Toledo CLOSED at 10 pm Friday to comply with the directive. As a part of the directive, the casino must submit a plan to the control commission detailing how they will maintain compliance with the state’s order. The 100-person limit includes staff and patrons.

The Strip will soon be completely closed. Prolly downtown as well.

    Hope y'all like The Orleans.

Strongly agree, but there are details to be worked out. Personally, I like the idea of cash only, through local managers, without a paper trail. I would advise caution when transferring actual funds via Venmo, PayPal, etc. I'm not a lawyer or law enforcement officer, I haven't studied the relevant case law, and reading their rules leaves the details unclear to me. For example with the Pokerrrr app:

"Pokerrrr will be releasing new rules to help prevent clubs from being able to conduct illegal activity. Specifically, the Anti-Abuse Policy aims to combat inappropriate gambling abuse from happening on our service....

Players/clubs who are caught receiving inappropriate financial benefit will be banned for some features, and also possibly have their hosting abilities temporarily/permanently suspended...."

Well, they are likely speaking out both sides of their mouth on this subject. I can't speak for Pokerrr, but the one I use knows exactly where its growth came from.

LA poker closed over the weekend. Even if you could play, the games would be shit. Recs are just not playing right now. I’ll miss the game while it’s gone but it will be back.
