Should I have called the Turn?

I have been studying this hand from last night as it felt at the time that I had made some errors.

I felt that I shouldn’t have called pre flop.

Not sure I should have bet OOP on the flop.

Got lucky with the turn card. Bet, fine.

Got reraised. I had put the villain on probably a pair ok kings or maybe a draw.

I was annoyed with myself as it was almost an automatic reaction to hit raise without thinking as had a strong hand.

I feel if I called I could have got more value from the hand on the river.

I don't get how many players were there. 3, 4 more ? And what is V's position?

So, why don't you present us your analysis ?

The way I saw the hand is I called a standard raise with a suited ace on the button.

Hit bottom pair with flush draw so value bet.

Turn I get the trips 4 so value bet again. Get re-raised and raise again without thinking.

I figure after that I probably should have just called.

I think they most likely had a pair of kings so I probably showed too much strength with the raise on the turn.

There were 5 players. Flop was heads up and I was out of position.

Pretty sure you're in the BB.

Do you have a check-raising range in this flop spot?

No, I didn’t think about check raising on the flop to be honest. All as I thought about was I had a decent amount of equity so should value bet

Okay, it's just a little unusual to donk bet like this, so that in general you need a specific reason to do so. I prefer a check. The only advantage I see to a lead is encouraging your opponent to put you on a weak K.

Your donk bet looks like Kx hand, where 'x' is a weak kicker. Villian could be making this play with AK/KQ or AA. I agree with Kat (again) that a better option is to check flop, and possibly raise when they cbet flop.

Make sure when you face a raise like this that you ask "what hand could villian think I hold?" This might lead you to find a call or fold depending on the situation.
