Scared of the monster

Hello everyone,

This hand I played last night at a local casino 1/2 game and cannot get it out of my head. The table has been passive and willing to call my raises even after I had folded for the last hour due to being card dead. Zero thinking players at the table. SB is very weak passive player that loves any two suited cards. He has hit 3 flushes in the last 2 hours. One which happen to be with 6-2 and got stacked by a J high flush. I also saw him miss the river with 2 other flush draws. The BB is a gambler who loves throwing money in preflop and then will bet small if he hits any of the flop hoping to take it down cheap. He raises big if he has TP or better. Not much info on the cutoff but he is definitely straight forward player. Any bet over 20 dollars is a big bet at this table.

Hero :9s:9c utg +1, covers the table, raises to $11
Cut Off : calls, $80
SB: calls, $225
BB: calls, $75
Pot: $44

Flop- :Qs:5s:3c

SB: Check
BB: $5
Hero: $25
Cutoff: Folds
SB: Almost folds and then decides to call. I know this player doesn't act and, he really changed his mind about folding, so I know 100% he is drawing.
BB: Folds
Pot: $95

Turn- :Js

SB: Check
Hero: Check- Scared of the flush monster under the bed from this specific player checks. Any other player at the table and I fire another $25 dollar bet, but seeing him chase the flush so many times already I put any two spades in his hand.

River- :Ah

Check, Check

Q: Should I bet the turn with this player or was the check OK.
Any critique on the hand is appreciated, but I feel as though I am venting to everyone to get this hand out of my head. :)

If you know a villains on a draw, and they don't have 46 or 24 in their range, they have to be on a FD that got their. I do think the hem and haw could just be another speculative hand (maybe 6s-10s), and just not solely a FD.

As far as betting the turn, I don't think it's mandatory, but heads up I lean towards firing as a bluff. Maybe villain puts me on a FD or has a hand that can't take much action (q 6 or so). We do have the 9s, so we aren't completely out of the water if the 4th spade comes and can check behind when or if it does.

Side note: zero thinking players at a casino on a weekend night, where do you live? :) I definitely fall to this at times, but I found I get burned less when I classify them as 'straightforward' or 'differently thinking' players. They are interpreting the game on a different level, sure, but I doubt their are players that are calling or betting at random.

Bingo. Nailed it. Pass Go, Collect $200.

As for this hand you might consider why you are cbetting into three people and what hands you want to do that with and why. When you have a disoptimal cbetting range it's very hard to continue even when you are supposed to, because you often end up with random bits and ends of equity that don't intersect with the board.

Thanks for the notes. He was on a weird draw that I didn't even consider at the time. He showed down :Ad:2h to take the pot. I will continue to work on putting the correct range to people. I agree with the players being straight forward, and I know they do think. I was just still steaming over the hand this morning. It was a super soft table and a great night. Thanks for listening to me.

happens to the best of us! I remember someone posting a hand shortly after some large online MTT, and the 3 villains left were labeled something to the effect of lagtard, aggrodonk, and fish. I wrote 'lol at villain's names'' and the original poster admitted to writing the post about 30 minutes after busting and was not in the most objective mindset!

Glad it was overall a profitable night in a soft game!
