Hi all,

About a month ago a friend of mine (former $1/2 and $2/5 player who lived off of poker only for a couple of years) approached me with the idea of studying together to start tackling online cash and live tournaments. He hasn't played in seven years and I have never seriously studied the game. Our first live tournament I bubbled in a field of 220 (30th).

I have been listening to the red chip podcast -- shout out to all of the contributors for the awesome content, I've greatly benefited -- and have been reading as much as I can. I struggle a lot with tilt (e.g., I built my online $120 BR to $400 in 3 weeks, lost it all, then spewed off $200 in $1/2 live) but am now committed to taking it slow, studying, and building steadily. When I don't get emotional I can play pretty solid, but I find when I take a shot and lose I go on tilt.

I'm looking forward to getting involved in this community as the pod cast makes it seem friendly and informative.
