Does anyone know if payout structures change if there is a tourney overlay? Do they pay more people? Adjust % for first place?

An overlay in a tourney is where there is a guarantee, but not enough entries to cover the guaranteed payout. Thus, the players get an overlay.

In such a case, they would keep the advertised payout structure.

If there are more entries than the guaranteed prize fund, they will increase the prizes awarded, and the number of people who cash.

Totally going to depend on which casino or site. I think the most normal thing is they look at the payout table for the number of players (these are already defined in percentages of the pool) and use the guarantee as the pool instead of the actual money brought in. Small casinos might do something weird and homebrew though.

So I guess I'll just have to see what they do. One of the tourneys I made day 2 in has a massive overlay. 200k gtd and I think they are only going to hit just over 100k!! Was only a $140 bi! I know they will pay the gtd I just wasn't sure if payouts were adjusted.
