wanting to hear reports of RC players having a huge (successful) session.

This post was started because I like to hear stories about players that had a really big night. If anyone has had one, lets share it with us, and what it was like, and how you think it happened(if it was skill, or luck, or from coaching in RC, or something else).

Wow, those might be the worst designed poker chips I have ever seen. Red Green color blindness is the most common type and these chips would be a complete disaster. Trade them in for cash!

This last weekend was a good one for me, so I will start this out.

The session was at the Kansas Star casino in Mulvane Ks. The only stakes usually played there are 1/3NL with a $300 cap.Playing a 1/3 capped game is tough enough to make a profit, with the rake, let alone having to play with better then average players, so i mainly play there for practice(even though most times it is a -EV situation). Most weekends there will be 5 or 6 tables at the peek of the night. The players have been tougher then most 1/3 or even 2/5 games i have play, at other casinos( like Vegas or AC). The last year I have been playing a lot of sessions at places like the Borgata or Bellagio, and have been doing well at 5/10NL , but when i go back Mulvane, I really have a hard time making any money. My last month was break even, at best, and it was hard to figure out ranges for players at this casino. All i could do was to try to do my best and continue studying here on RC, and wait for the varience to go back my way.

Then last friday night everything came together and I was able to cash out at $2,050 and last night at $1550...Finally !...Most of the success was from a few changes in my play to exploit my opponent's play( and also of course, lady luck). Now don't expect i will be doing this again, but it was great to have it happen this last weekend. i don't know about anyone else, but winning 1.5k, or so, in one session is very good, at a 1/3 capped game and having it happen twice in a row is awesome!

So let me hear some great success reports.... I am sure there are some great ones, much better then this.

Ha! That's my home room. I don't know that the games are necessarily tougher, but you definitely have to be willing to gamble at the ol' K-Star. Scared money is few and far between.

I don't know what a monster session is, but here is my last 10 (hooray for sun running!).

Here's a pic from Saturday after working a 15 hour shift at my real job. I'm in for $600 tho.

I felt a bit strange taking a photo of my racks of chips before cashing them in after my last sessions. It's nice to know that you guys take chip stack photos too! I'm up 3 straight $1/$3 sessions now of $602 after working on my game through RedChip. :)

What am I doing wrong? if I cash only for double or triple buy in

Built just shy of a $1K stack for the first time this weekend at $1/$2. Felt good taking $500 of it from the most aggressive player at the table. Never could have done that w/o 10+ hours of studying RCP stuff over last month, not counting all the awesome poker conversations I've been having with coaches & community on and off the podcast. Drew on all of it, feeling the power!

Nothing. That was me for a long time. I honestly never had the type of HUGE sessions that some of the better players like @faustovaldez123 book regularly.

In talking with @christiansoto I have learned that it really is all about pushing the action. Being the guy who makes other players uncomfortable and in turn creates the opportunity for them to make BIG mistakes.

I am still very much in the beginning stages of adapting to this high aggression and action driving style. It takes time for sure and it can be risky. I will say that I can already see a difference in how opponents react to me at the tables.

This is the first hour after buying in for $200 at $1/$2 on Saturday. More than tripled up. Doubled up in first hand I was dealt! Always a good way to start. Wish I could say it was all skill but it was just an unusually soft table.

Sounds like you're doing things right! Monster stacks rarely happen, especially if you play for shorter periods of time. I rarely play for longer than 4-5 hours.

Lol I get yelled at for trying to sneak a pic

    I've cashed 3000 in 4 hours at 2/5 and 1500
At 1/2 this year ...but my best his was a bad best in 2010

Walked into poker room with 60 bucks ....I was 24 lol. Played for 30 min and turned quad sixes which got beat by s straight flush . The jackpot was at 66000...my 50 percent share was 33000 not too bad for a night lol

chip porn is bad for poker study.
it makes you forget that the decisions you make shouldn't be tied to results.

I'd rather hear about a hand played smartly (regardless of whether it was won or lost) than see photos of chips.

Yeah this specific thread is not about poker study, just sharing a big night

i know...this discussion is not about study...but not every big stack is luck...many are a result of study, and it is nice to see some results of study...and it is still "fun" !...and i like to see it and hear about it.

btw........great job to all that did well......keep it going !
