In Matthew Janda's book "Applications of NLHE," Matthew gives suggested opening ranges pre-flop for 6-max. I thought it would be interesting to extend these ranges to full-ring.

The percent-of-hands given in the book are as follows, starting with UTG and concluding with the small blind: 13.9%, 17.9%, 23.7%, 47.5% and 36.3%.

I attempted to follow the progression given by Matthew and came up with these numbers for a ten-player game, going from UTG to UTG+3: 6.6%, 7.7%, 9.1% and 11.1%.

And then I came up with these specific hands. I'll go from UTG to UTG+4. UTG+4 is actually the hands given by Matthew as UTG 6-max:

UTG(10): TT+, any two Q and higher ("royalty"), AJs
UTG(10)+1: 88+, add suited faces (jacks and higher)
UTG(10)+2: 77, add AJo
UTG(10)+3: 66, add suited broadways, T9s
UTG(10)+4 (same as UTG(6), Matthew's hands): add 33+, add J9s, add suited connectors 65s+.

Anyway I thought this was interesting. I thought it would be a good way to tighten up my game in the earlier positions, and I thought I would share it with all of you. Let me know what you think.
