Mental skills lacking right now in live poker. LEAK

I mainly play tournaments and some 1/2 NL cash, I've been playing poker seven months now. With I'm constructing 3 barrel bluffs in certain spots, making squeeze plays 3-bets in particular spots and calculating spr and hand ranges, however when I get to a live tournament I can't seem to translate my techniques to the felt. I can't seem to get this techniques from the screen to the felt and its debilitating my confidence level on the felt and my results. Has anyone had a similar or same issue before and could explain this to me. Really starting to bother me. lol Thanks.

You're telling us its harder to barrel for real money with people staring at your every move than it is on a play money site.

I think you can self-diagnose and fix this.

If another hundred hours of poker go by and I'm making the same mistake it's time for a coach

    Chris -
the fact that you figured out ClubWPT tells me that you know how to solve a puzzle.
but what I think is your "problem" is you're playing in two different arenas.
( @Wiki_Leaks might disagree)... but your ClubWPT won't translate directly to live low limit games for a variety of reasons...
    1.) nobody is multi-tabling live
2.) people drove down to the casino to PLAY poker (not fold)
3.) when people don't know what to do, they call
4.) 3-bets in LLNH are much, much tighter than online

you just need to create new ranges for your casino games.
it's the same process you used to win online... but it's going to be a different recipe!

Hey Christopher... You don't say where and what type of live tournaments you are playing. If they are the variance nightmare daily's at the local casino where you start with 120 bb's and (if lucky) get in one full orbit per blind level, then your online style will never translate to this game. I also think playing in these games early in your development will bring about some horrible consequences. Well shoot, I guess they already are... you should be gaining confidence with each live session, not losing it.

I would suggest just sticking to cash games at the casino, at least as you are starting out. You can just look at it as the first level of a tourney, if that helps you. But you'll be under no pressure to play hands. And if you are observant, patient, and choose the right spots, you can make all of those plays you mention (and more) and actually pull them off with a degree of success.

    Where do you play?

    Ahh Kagey you would lol.

Yosh nade some good points. If you understand the why you can beat any game. You then need to figure out the how or what. This is of course way easier typed than done.

It sounds like an adjustment issue. You formed your strategy for a certain player pool and you dont have enough experience adjusting to new opponents. Looks like a great opportunity to hone a new skill.

I thought clubwpt was rigged at first could win a tournament in the free trial however this month I bought my first month and have made the $25 back in twenty days and an extra $25 for next months grinds. Clubwpt seems like a mess but it's something I did learn to understand in just under a month. Thanks for the feedback

In live you don't have HUD stats lol. You have to make them and with only 20 hands an hour maybe 30 at most in NL it's kinda difficult. I just thought about when you said the beautiful solitude of playing silently online poker. I think what you and me both need in live poker is some music that we enjoy just to keep you're mind off of all the casino noise. Also wear glasses to avoid tells in the eyes and learn to control your breathing through meditation. Listen to soothing music in silence it will calm your nerves in more tense situations. Live poker consists of observation... Do it up my friend

I had the same experience when I started playing live as well. It took me longer to make the plays my brain thought was best, than when playing online, for some reason.
