Hull's Poker Work Book for Math Geeks Question
Hi everyone! This is my first time posting, so my apologies if this is the wrong place or format. I just ordered Hull's "Poker Work Book for Math Geeks" and am reading the authorized preview while I wait for my copy. While working through some of the examples, I was unable to figure out what the "Makeup" figure is. For example, on page 96, it says "Profit: $84, Makeup: $-13". What is the makeup, and what is the significance of it being -$13 in this example.
Thanks.
Thanks.

will be explained in book.
$20 to call with 20% equity (flush draw)
will miss 4 times and hit once
that is $80 chasing
there is $50 in the pot now. you need to makeup $30 to break even. it is another way to think about implied odds

I've never played poker against @Doug Hull , yet he still gets all of my money through other ventures.

Why not!
In my medical opinion, this injury was likely caused by excessive 3-betting, bombing over limpers, and the high reps of chip raking motions.
