Going to move up in stakes (tournament buy-in) for the Manila Super Series for the first time

This tournament is on my birthday March 2 at PokerStars City of Dreams Manila.

Any advice on how I should prepare on short notice?

Currently reading SplitSuit's Dynamic Full Ring Poker.

Have both Cardrunners EV and Holdem Manager 2 but don't know how that can apply for live tournament.

Thinking of reading Zachary Elwood's Book of Tells but don't know if I have time.

Can Flop Falcon help here?

Forgot to include some specific weakness I have:
    • Have trouble counting the chips in live tournaments - this makes my betting not to the standard half-pot
    • I tend to play a check check game thus giving my opponents a free card - somehow I get to trap many players but I always get to showdown with them and I don't have a bluff balancing range
    • I don't have a bluff balancing range - Everyone tells me I play the cards too much.
    • I'm TAG preflop but a loose passive fish post flop which exposes my hands
    • I tend to not seem to find players that play a LAG game rarely and I try to radically change my game to LAG but aside from floating I don't know what to do

Those are some pretty big live MTT issues tbh. Have you watched Jordan Young's MTT series in the PRO Membership yet?

I might suggest starting there =)

What is the buy in for this MTT? Is it live or online?

Checking the MTT series now. The buy-in is 10,000 php or 200 dollars. It's a live tournament hosted by Pokerstars.

This is pretty small for a live MTT. Have fun it will teach you a lot.
