Hello Red chippers

My name is Wayne and I stumbled onto RedChip a few months ago while looking for some poker education directed more towards live players. In the past my poker education was primarily reading books and APT and PokerSnowie sites.

After a few weeks looking around the RCP site, I was really impressed, so much so, that when the holiday promo came up, it was a no brainer, I was All-in for the full year subscription. Now I have plenty of quality study material on both skill improvement and strategy. Thank you very much to the owners and coaches of RCP for creating the site and sharing the content.

I also purchased SplitSuits Hand Reading workbook and Hand Reading lab, which I found both to be awesome and have already seen some good ROI from those investments.

Originally from upstate NY, about a half hour from TurningStone Casino is where I started playing live poker about 8 years ago.

Now I split my time between NY and FL. Summers I spend at camp in the Adirondacks, and play at TurningStone, but will have to check out the new Rivers Casino in Schenectady this summer.

The rest of the year, I generally play at the HardRock casino in Tampa about 75 hrs a month.

I've been so busy studying and playing that I haven't spent that much time in the forums, but look forward to using the forums more and getting to know other RCP members.

I was wondering if there are other RCP members that play at HardRock Tampa, Turning Stone in Vernon or Rivers in Schenectady. It would be great to meet, can't have to many poker friends!!

I don't play in Tampa but I may be taking a trip down there in a couple months.

What are your thoughts on the room?

    Hi Wayne!

I play at Tampa HR a few times a year when I'm in town. Perhaps next time in town, I'll remember to shoot you a message.

Sounds like you have made some excellent purchases lately! The Hand Reading Lab is my next purchase.

Welcome Wayne, nice to see some fellow upstate NYers here. I reside in Schenectady, more specifically Rivers casino. There more time than not, feel free to let me know when you're in town, would love to talk some poker, maybe a beer/burger. Cheers mate.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome .

@bigburge10 . They opened a new poker room at Hardrock Tampa in January. I was told they spent 24 million on the new room. I think it's pretty nice . You can park in the garage and take the elevator right to the poker room . 46 tables nicely spaced, with a deli and bar (though I never drink while playing) right in the room. There's also a lounge area to eat. Rake is 10% up to a max a $5 at 1/2 and a bad beat $1 drop.. let me know when your in town.

@Blayo I'll be in NY for ten days next month , I'll let you know when I'm headed to Rivers.

@Wayne I visited the room about a month ago. It's very nice! The new location is great since you no longer need to walk through the entire casino to access the poker room. I used to live in St Pete, so I used to play at Hardrock quite often.

Funny story--when I was in town, I accidentally viewed Hardrock Hollywood instead of Tampa on Bravo. So, in an attempt to call ahead, without realizing it, I called Hollywood and put my name on the list. When I arrived to Hardrock Tampa, I couldn't find my name on the list, yada, yada, yada. Turns out, Hardrock Tampa doesn't take call aheads!

@tfazio Let me know when your next going to play at Hardrock and thanks for the invite to the hand reading study group. Sounds awesome, however its over a 3hr ride from where I live in Hudson Beach.

@bigburge10 yea I've tried the call in to the Hardrock before. I've found Saturday's can be tough to get on a table. They run a triple 30's tournament every Saturday, $30,000 guarantee, 30 minute levels and 30,000 starting chip stack. From 11am till about 11 pm, I've seen it with a constant 50+ people on the $1/2 waiting list for a table seat.
