Transitioning from MTT to Cash games.

HI RCP. i am a long time lurker of Red Chip and have participated maybe in two or three posts here through my time playing poker. I am in my 15 day trial and may decide to make the full run at it.

I have been a MTT grinder since 2011 and have remained there ever sense. I haven't really dived in to cash games but the occasional 1 2 NL games live at the casino for fun or occasionally landing in the 10NL games online for a small 1 hour long sessions.

I am most comfortable playing MTT's because I have been playing them since 2011. I enjoyed going deep in tourneys and working toward big scores. Lately, I have been challenged and intrigued really to take on Cash games in a more serious tone than MTT. I have a family of 3 boys and a wife of 23 years. I am committed husband and father. I need to have balance in my games and my family time. Being as flexible and stay in the game I love, MTT's just doesn't fit. US players don't have much as far as SnG's as it did back in pre-Black Friday. I haven't really been able to stretch myself in Poker for cash SO I want to embark on learning the game going forward which is why I thought I'd choose this spot here at RCP.

I have decided that I am going to make a full run at cash games. To do this, I want to completely take MTT to the backseat and break from the MTT grind. I hope to gain some great nuggets in my 15 days from this community and really work hard at my cash game..

I haven't been here long, but I know you're at the right place. I have a similar background, but I've played a ton of live cash as a break even/small winner/small loser player. My game has already been turned inside out in a very short time. I've been working through the podcasts and there are a few gems that I think you'll like. There is a great podcast talking about poker life balance and defining what role poker has in your life. I would check those out.
