Post recipes in this thread. Rules:

1. Must be simple enough that after you've made it once or twice, you can make it without referring back the recipe for directions. Impress your girlfriend, your wife's family, or your kids by whipping something up on the fly.

2. Bonus points for healthiness, but even healthy diets include some treats in moderation. However if it's junky, it better be really good.

Pasta Sauce:

Start with a can of tomatoes, typically 28 oz. Look for San Marzano if your store has them. Pour all (tomatoes and juice) in a blender and make as chunky or smooth as you like. Put it in a pan and start heating.

2 versions:

Version 1:
Put in 5 tablespoons of butter and half an onion (as one solid piece). Simmer for 20-30 minutes. Throw out the onion.

Version 2:
Put in 5 tablespoons of olive oil and 5 cloves of minced garlic. Simmer for 20-30 minutes. Chop up a big bunch of basil and mix in when you put it on the pasta.

Salt both to taste. You can do either in less than 20 minutes if in a hurry, you just might not get as much flavor from the onion or garlic.
