Is this the right fold given the action? I don't see what I beat on this river

Welcome to Red Chip Forums OddAndy!

Just because the player has a PFR=23.33%, when it is folded to him on the button he could still easily be raising with near 50% of hands. The player is in the classic steal position. With 77, calling from the SB is still reasonable, but I hope you considered 3-betting because you are going to be out of position.

That said, while we have the little boat, we are beating straights, missed straight draws, missed flush draws, missed backdoor flush draws, trip Aces (without boat), King rag, Queen Rag, and pure bluffs. We only lose to bigger boats. I think this is a mandatory call.

    I prefer 3B preflop

As played I think this should be XR-B-B as he will call river with any JT that floated your flop raise and Ax which should be a lot of his range. Yeah sometime he has the bigger boats but like joe said you are up against his BTN RFI range which will have lots of Ax not just the premium combos you fear.

Also consider he didn't raise the turn on a double flush board which likely removes some of his set combos, and all the flushdraws miss so he can put you on busted draw and call river with many if not all AX combos
