Unusual Poker Story

You may have heard or seen this before. But I haven't, and it happened to me.

I played in a tournament yesterday. I was the first at the table before it began. Then the tournament director started his pre-game speech: no cell phones, don't hide chips, etc. Then he says "shuffle up and deal." Well I'm still the only one there. The dealer calls the floor. The floor checks the computer. He returns and says the seats have been sold. Start dealing. So I took an early lead at my table.

A guy at another table took a picture.

They didn't re-balance the tables? Where was this/how big was the tourney?

Must have been boring stealing the blinds.

This was the last of 6 flights for the opening event at the Chicago Poker Classic. The event attracts around 2,000 players during the opening flights. So while it was unusual, it really didn't last long. It was just weird to play 5 dead stacks for a couple hands.
