Range When Calling Flop Raises

Something I have always struggled since the beginning of the game is in situations where I call flop raises. I always believe that my range just looks like something that won't be able to withstand against someone willing to shove their stack in. Maybe it's because I bet and then shove with all my strong hands?

For example, I have AK on a K74 board. I will generally shove over a check-raise with a set. To protect my bet-call range, should I be doing that with my sets? Should I even have a bet-shove range ever? Except against bad players?
