Goals: Play more poker, write a new book, create more videos, meditate more often, and walk at least 15miles/week.

Plan: Better scheduling, hiring a PA to take some work off my plate, stepping away from the computer when I've hit mental capacity.

    My goals for 2015:

    - deposit poker bankroll at different bank to keep separate from personal funds (stop spending my bankroll on non-poker items, so I can practice proper bankroll management)
    - no more big buy in tournaments, limit 1 smaller tournament per week maximum, concentrate on cash games to build bankroll
    - set up an e-wallet and try some new poker sites to find more fish
    - study at least 1 hour for every 5 hours of play
    - host a second monthly home game (my win rate is insane at our home game)
    - find new app to track wins and losses (old one crapped out and data was lost!)

The plan is to block out time in advance on Friday/Saturday/Sunday to play online when games are juiciest, and consistently put in 5 hours every week in online cash games. I know that's a laughably small amount of time for most players here, but if I could make time for 5 hours of online poker per week, that would be an achievement by itself. I am already a winning player. If I can increase my hourly, build the bankroll and move up a level, that will be enough profit to justify spending 5 hours or more per week.

JCW you deleted your post but I wanted to wish you the best with your goals. You are a true player and a great poster when you surface here and elsewhere.

    Thanks.

I just decided that they were a little personal. Also might have been taken the wrong way.

To play more live and get comfortable in that setting.
Run some online bankroll challenge for myself.

Working on discipline at tables & improving post flop play.

Set a more discipline schedule for study and play to make life feel less hectic.

    Goals

My main goal is to get back to playing 1/2 NLHE regularly.  I don't live near any casinos but the is a reliable home game with loose players that I can play in.  Right now I don't have a sufficient bankroll and I am not confident in my skills so I have work to do to build both if them up in order to get back into the game.  My goal is to start playing in this game the first week of June.  Here are my sub goals to prepare for that:

    Read The Course

Watch all of the No Limit Hold 'em Made Simple Videos 4 times.

Listen to audio from all of the No Limit Hold 'em Made Simple Videos in my car 3 times

    Build/Save Bankroll to $3,000.

Start playing live 1/2 NLHE on June 3rd

I know a $3,000 bankroll is kind of small, but it is the best I can do with my financial situation.  I plan on buying in for $100 at a time and will only bring $300 per session so I figure I can make it last me a while and hopefully build it up.  This is really my only option so I am taking my shot.

    1. I'm retired, currently 50 y/o, living in Vegas
    a. poker is my mental stimulation and keeps me sane, I love it
    b. my strength is I crave and need competition (strength finder)
    c. used to work at Microsoft, a very competitive environment, I thrived
    2. Get 100% better at poker, both NLH and PLO
    a. I play about 30 - 40 hours / week
    b. I study 3 hours / day x 5 days each week to "earn" my play that day
    c. Considering doing the WPDG, but is that high bandwidth use of time?
    3. Move up in stakes to be winning at 5/10
    a. currently can solidly beat 1/2 regularly with various strategies
    b. winning at 2/5 but there are holes in my game, perhaps MANY
    c. I Mid-Stack Hit and Run 50bb in 5/10 games successfully, they hate me
    d. I would like to be a full stack strong 5/10 player eventually
    e. Online only play 6max PLO. .10/.20 - want to be strong .50/$1 someday
    f. I look like an Old Guy (nit) but try to play a young GTO type game

    * one more book published
    * two premium videos projects
    * audio version of Poker Plays You Can Use
    * a good start on a second book for early next year
    * be sure that at least one coach responds to every thread in strategy forums
    * 1000 hours of $1-$2 in Las Vegas to better calibrate to the game

The last one might be sacrificed for the earlier ones.

I joined RCP for the videos, and the forums were of secondary interest to me. Little did I know this would truly turn out to be a COACHING site. The forums have turned out to be one of the best values of membership -- and it is available to all for free. I don't suspect that other coaching sites are this interactive.

So I very specifically decided to focus on creating/strengthening my poker relationships this year.

I have been playing poker for a shit-ton of years. My technical game is OK at this point and I am relatively happy with my continued progress.

What was lacking however was good solid relationships with solid like minded poker players.

Creating and continuing to develop those relationships was my main goal for the 2015 year. This site/forum and the RCP pros are a big part of achieving that goal for me.

I would say that it has been going pretty well so far. I have enjoyed every interaction I have had with all of the people I have come into contact with so far this year.

    Things are good.

BTW Doug...I think that your 2nd book should be a follow-on to the RCP Late Position book. I would request an "Out of Position" book focusing on EP and the blinds.

    Goals:
    1. Eventually become more LAGy
    2. Improve my hand reading skills

    Plan:
    1. Start from scratch. Forget everything I"ve been doing the past 10 years.
    2. Follow advice gleaned from RCP forum and vids: - play more tighter (for now), break away from bluff catching, etc.
    3. When not in a hand, try to read the hands of other players

Being in the US I mostly just play live at this time...so I don't feel qualified to write a complete book on 6max dynamics right now =(

Spend more nights of my wind-down hour before bed on poker material instead of a game or netflix. Right now it's probably once a week (unless it's the first week of the month), whereas I'd like to have it 3-4 times a week. Not my heavy studying time, but popping on a stream, MTT review, or some coverage of a poker event on youtube.

I do have other time allotted to study that is outside this area for more math orientated study, but figured a passive poker time would be nice as well
