JJ overpair facing flop raise

Daily rb/ao tourney at HP, still in rb period. Soft field.

Villain has been seeing quite a few flops (saw him show down limped J7o in LP), and so far has played pretty straightforwardly after the flop. Haven't seen a bluff yet, he's been at the table for about 40 hands. FWIW, he's an old man, but this is Hollywood Park, so he's not a typical "rock."

Blinds 75/150
Villain: MP ~13,800
Hero: SB ~ 18,000

UTG limps, villain limps, CO limps, Hero in SB with :Jh:Js makes it 800. UTG folds, villain calls, CO calls.

Bet sizing OK? I tend to raise on the smaller side in tourneys, but this is early, and I'm facing three limpers.

Pot is 2,550. Flop is :9s:5s:3h . Hero bets 1,500, Villain raises to 3,000 (with 10,000 behind), CO folds. Hero ??

I expect he would likely raise JJ-99, 55, 33, A9, maybe K9 here. Less weight, but also very possible: QQ, Asxs, 7s6s, 6s4s. Occasionally 88-66, XsXs, almost never has AA-KK here. I don't have flopzilla in front of me ATM, but my guess is that the key to this being +EV or -EV is how often he raises A9 and K9. I see people min-raise those hands on flop at this level, I just don't know if he does here.

I don't like call - re-eval turn, so I either have to get it in here or just give up like a massive nit. SPR is over 5 to 1, so I'm not stoked to always get it in with JJ here... KK would be an easier decision. Thoughts?

    So yeah couple things.

You are still so deep preflop. I like a bigger size raise preflop. 1.1K or so. Just punish these guys.

On flop, I really like a Check-Raise. However, as played, just play for it. Re-raise and don't fold. Especially against that guy.

After the hand this occurred to me as an option; might as well charge them what they're willing to pay, and make decisions easier for myself later. Low limit live tourneys are an interesting beast. I ended up 3bet shoving the flop and felt pretty ok with it... I didn't even consider the check-raise line in this spot, might be something to try out!

Yep, just raise bigger and punish, and then CR on that board. That would get my approval. Let's get them chips!

*Betting is obv fine also. But never with any intentions but to get it in.
