Standard play with JJ?

I just moved to a new table. I have been at the Casino for a few hours now. The poker room is running a High Hand promotion.
I have been at the table now for approx 60 minutes. I have seen villain play approx 60-70% hands. He is fairly aggressive. Although twice people were fed up with his betting and they called, he had them beat with a decent hand. (flopped a straight with KJ, and a full house with 4,5) any way...
I am UTG ($300) with :JC: :JS: , I raise to $12 MP2 calls $12, Villain ($450 Dealer) reraises to $35
I call $35 , MP2 folds. Pot $80
Flop :AC: :KH: :8D:
I check, Villian bets $50
(I think villain certainly can reraise PF with a lot of stuff that hits the A,K on the board. )

Don't confuse his wide range with a wide 3 bet range. Has he been 3 betting a lot?

I think you can find a better battle. Fold this one.

Bigburge, that’s a great distinction. Something I will have to pay attention to next time. I’m always glad to have a couple hands to post after a game. Always something to learn!

I think that an aggressive villain often cbets his entire range of not just AA, KK, AND AK, Aq type hands but 99-qq and kx as checking screams 99-qq or kx in a 3b pot on this board... a bet my guess is intended to fold out exactly jj, tt, and to avoid giving other pairs a free card perhaps or getting bluffs off a k and by calling one street and take the betting lead when/if checked to you could conceivably get qq, and a naked K or weak ace to fold... a reasonable but not neccessary or great play against a lag that 3bets kj imo but probably folding flop to a nit or tighter player as your liking drawing near dead or very thin...

Villain knows you come in for a raise UTG. He must figure you got a good hand. I assume he at least know this. When he 3bets, he's telling you that he can beat the UTG raising hands. Well, for a typical player (not me and most of Red Chippers) ..., a typical player will have JJ+, AK, AQs. Your JJ are underdogs by 40:60. You are behind.

I will fold preflop if he's a competent player. If he knows wtf is going on, I will fold. I mean, I raise as the first one in UTG with my entire range but most if not the vast majority of other players have very strong range UTG. They actually have a very transparent mentality that is just a matter of little time that we start grinding chips into our stack.

Your right to a certain degree. I think someone who is playing 60%+ is not very competent and does not care you raised utg. Low stakes the recreational players play their hand not your hand. In general vs a larger 3 bet i would fold. This is only just under 3x for a squeeze..hero is calling $23 to win $63 total (12+12+35+blinds). Getting almost 3:1 preflop you can set mine or try and bluff him off qq or kk postflop when an ace hits. If its 875ss board and he checks maybe you have the best hand vs AK..if they bet Axx board im done with the hand.
